KB 2558 - Failed to initiate failover. Unable to connect to failover service.

ISSUE

User gets the following error message while trying to initiate failover.

Error ID 2558: Failed to initiate failover. Unable to connect to the failover service.

 

SOLUTION

User gets the above error message if the failover service has stopped. Click on Settings from the cluster landing page, click on System Settings, select the Services tab, select the Failover service from the services list, and click on Restart Selected Services. Once the failover service has restarted try initiating failover once more.
