ISSUE

User gets the following error message while trying to connect to a database.

Error ID 2110: Failed to connect to database

SOLUTION

This error appears when the user is trying to connect to a database server. Please check the configuration of the server, such as the database login credentials and database port and try connecting again. Also, check to see is the database server is running.

If you are trying to add a database server to a SSL-enabled cluster then please check to see if the correct SSL certificates have been uploaded on the DB servers.

For MySQL servers, the DNS name resolve option can cause connectivity issues if the DNS settings are incorrect. Please add skip-name-resolve to the my.cnf file and restart the MySQL server or correct the DNS settings.

In a situation where hostname is used to create a cluster or to set up replication on servers, ScaleArc requires DNS server and search domain for reverse lookup to be configured on the Network Settings page. The DNS server should be added in /etc/resolv.conf. Alternately, you can add the hostname and IP entry in /etc/hosts.
